I transcribe dictation from digital, video, mini, micro, regular, and four-channel formats.

Digital is very convenient. You can send your dictation via e-mail. It is downloaded directly from your recorder into your computer and e-mailed from anywhere in the world. You don't have to be in your office as long as you have computer and e-mail access.

My rate is $30 per hour of my time. This is roughly $90 per one hour of recorded time in regular speed. If it is recorded at half speed, then the charge would be double, as this has twice as much recording time on the tape.

If a tape is not of high quality, then the transcription time will increase. This is also true of focus groups, recordings with a lot of background noise, and recordings of people with accents. I will contact you if there is an issue with any of the above to discuss whether you want to continue with the transcription if it is not discussed ahead of time.

For medical transcription, I charge .14 per line divided by 65 characters to get a true line count.
